Coyote Trails School of Nature is a family-focused, experiential wilderness skills school nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. It is in teaching others that we learn and grow ourselves. At Coyote Trails wilderness school we are dedicated to the nurturing of all families through stories of the past and a vision for the future.

Tom Brown Jr. Tracking, Nature, & Wilderness Survival School was founded and is run by the author Tom Brown, Jr.  From age 7 to age 18, Tom was mentored in native living by an ancient Apache named Stalking Wolf.  Through his school and the 18 books he has written, Tom shares tracking, survival, awareness, and philosophy teachings that Stalking Wolf assembled in 60+ years of wandering wilderness of the western hemisphere.

Wilderness Awareness School was founded by Tom Brown's first student, Jon Young.  This school merges Stalking Wolf's teachings with those of several additional cultures.  Jon Young has extensively studied how best to teach this material to children and adults of the modern American culture.

Practical Primitive was founded by one of Tom Brown's former instructors, Eddie Starnater.  Eddie is widely regarded as a master knapper and bowyer.
